We hold all Cadets to the highest standards in keeping with the traditions and Para-military training methodology. The individual Cadets are expected to conduct themselves with integrity, professionalism, and timeliness, always remembering that the end product must be quality service to themselves, their team, department and community. All Cadets Earn the right to wear the Badge.
All Reserve Officers attend the Eastern Panhandle Reserve Training Academy. This Academy was created in 2012 by the Jefferson County Deputy Sheriff's Reserve Program in conjunction with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and is accredited by the Blue Ridge Technical and Community College. All training is provided by certified law enforcement and other certified trainers. Our Academy is the only Reserve training Academy in West Virginia and is open to all law enforcement. In addition to the immediate regional counties of Jefferson, Berkeley and Morgan, The Eastern Panhandle Reserve Training Academy had trained officers from Clay and Hampshire counties of West Virginia. Classroom training is supplemented with practical hands on exercises and is followed by 40 hours of in car practical training with certified deputy and Reserve training officers.
